In addition to land masses and their borders, the chromolithographed gores show the oceans with their currents, with steamship routes in red with ports of arrival and departure. The globe is mounted on its original ebonised stand with brass acorn finial. There is an historic repair to the globe near the 'Seychelles' (please see
