E. filter, keeping the two piece filter housing clamped together under operating pressure. What It Does The tie rod runs through the filter body and, together with its hardware, draws the upper and lower tank halves into firm contact against the tank O ring. A cracked, corroded, or missing tie rod allows the housing to flex at the seam, resulting in
