You take Gates over anything replacement level, never pass any of the Gates-matter cards, and just make sure you have enough removal
Whenever you learn you can either rummage (discard a card to draw another card) or put any lesson card from your sideboard into your hand
Finally poor poor Putrefy, a card once so staple and powerful that has befallen many a tragedy so that it now sees almost no play
These get more play than they should based on their power level alone
